Biography

 

Dr. Joseph Golden retired in 1997 as president and CEO of Spirit Square, a multidiscipline arts center in Charlotte, NC. Formerly, he held the positions of executive director of the Cultural Resources Council of Syracuse and Onondaga County, NY, and managing director of the Civic Center of Onondaga County. He holds a B.A. from Tufts University, an M.A. from Indiana University, a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois. A prolific writer, Dr. Golden is author of Olympus on Main Street: A Process for Planning A Community Arts Facility and The Death of Tinker Bell, a critique of contemporary American theater.
