Elizabeth Ward
Development Associate, Corporate and Foundation Relations

Elizabeth  WardElizabeth Ward joined the staff of Americans for the Arts in August 2010. As development associate, Elizabeth acts as the primary partner to the corporate and foundation relations coordinator, director of corporate and foundation relations, and the vice president of development in securing corporate and foundation support. Before coming to Americans for the Arts, she obtained her M.A. in arts management at American University and worked at The Pink Line Project, a public relations initiative that partners with local arts and cultural organizations throughout Washington, DC to engage and develop new arts audiences. Through these partnerships, she has worked extensively with organizations such as The Smithsonian Freer + Sackler Galleries, The Phillips Collection, The Textile Museum, Cultural Development Corporation, and The National Cherry Blossom Festival. Elizabeth is a native Kansan but holds her B.A. in music and communication from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. She has actively pursued as many art forms as possible, including piano, choir, music theater, dance, and art history. Her master’s thesis explored the world of artist districts in Washington, DC and how their existence contributes to the creative output of the artists in the city. Outside of the office, Elizabeth is a DC arts journalist, an All Songs Considered listener, a conjurer in the kitchen, and a DIY enthusiast.
