On January 10, www.PartnershipMovement.org will be in full swing, providing the resources that both businesses and arts organizations need to create meaningful collaborations. Visitors can learn how the arts give business a competitive advantage, read about successful partnerships nationwide, and discover how to create their own partnerships.

Facts & Figures Contributed Income Falls for Nonprofit Theaters According to Theatre Facts 2010, a study released by Theatre Communications Group (TCG), contributed income to nonprofit theaters fell 11.6 percent in 2010. This decrease comes after a five-year high of contributed income in 2009. The study also showed a decline in corporate, state, and local support. Theatre Facts 2010 is based on the TCG Fiscal Survey, compiling data from nonprofit theaters’ fiscal year ending between October 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010. For information, www.tcg.org. Take Note Partnering for a Global Reach St. Regis Hotels & Resorts and Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) have come together in an internationally spread partnership. Over the next five years, St. Regis and JALC will work together to create a series of jazz clubs around the world. The first of the initial five will open at The St. Regis Doha in April 2012. Campaigning for Corporate Sponsors The Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC) is launching its first significant campaign for corporate sponsors. Currently CSC is fiscally supported by foundations and benefactors, with no dollars coming in from ticket sales as all shows are free. Leadership believes that with the changing economic landscape corporations are no longer choosing between sponsorships and layoffs. For information, http://bostonherald.com. Private Sector Network Building Arts Leaders in Miami The Arts & Business Council (ABC) of Miami is one of the 2011 Knight Arts Challenge winners, funded by the Knight Foundation. ABC Miami has been awarded a grant for Building Arts Leaders and Bridging Leadership Gaps. The project aims to build new cultural leaders, expand audiences, and increase income sources. Business and community participants will be matched with available board positions at Miami arts groups. For information, www.knightarts.org.
