Kate Guernsey
Project Manager
PICnet, Inc.
Kate arrived to PICnet, San Francisco as a project manager in August 2007, where she enjoys guiding nonprofits to build and manage their own websites using the Joomla! CMS. Always drawn to the creative and eclectic, Katie mustered her way through a B.S. in computer science by taking art history classes at UCSB. After a bout with a few engineering companies, her first professional immersion in the arts was working for the Museo de la Ciudad in Quito, Ecuador, in 2003. She has since served in development, educational, cultural events planning, and database administration capacities at the City of Ventura, Cultural Affairs Division and the Museum of Latin American Art. Wanting to formalize her understanding of the field, she obtained a masters in arts management from Carnegie Mellon and was the primary coordinator of the Center for Arts Management and Technology’s first Technology in the Arts conference in 2006. Katie has been contracted to help launch the L.A. Music Center’s website and to research the domain of grants management solutions for Idealware. This is her third year serving on the Emerging Leaders Council and fourth as an Americans for the Arts member.
