R. Brent Stanley

Vice President of Finance

Brent joined the staff of the National Assembly of Local Arts Agencies, one of the predecessor organizations of Americans for the Arts, in March 1994. Currently, he is responsible for the financial reporting, budgeting, investing, and risk management functions of Americans for the Arts and its related organizations. Brent has also been primarily responsible for the administrative, human resources, and management information systems functions during his tenure with the organization. Prior to joining Americans for the Arts, Brent served as director of finance for Educom, a nonprofit organization focused on using computer technology to enhance teaching and learning in higher education. He has also served as the director of finance for the National Apartment Association and the TLT Group, both in Washington, DC; and also as vice president of finance for J. R. Graham & Son, Inc, a High Point, NC-based general contracting firm. Brent received his B.S. in business administration and economics from High Point College and is currently pursuing his CPA designation. Although no longer current, Brent has held a North Carolina Real Estate Brokers License. He has been active in many volunteer activities such as the Piedmont Triad Construction Financial Managers Association, High Point Jaycees, the Piedmont Triad Chamber of Commerce, the Finance and Administration Roundtable, and the American Society of Association Executives. He has also served on the board of directors of One in Ten, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit arts presenting organization. Brent resides in Ft. Washington, MD.
