Our vision is that the arts are recognized as integral to the lives of all people and essential to the health and vitality of communities and the nation.
Our mission is to serve, advance, and lead the diverse networks of organizations and individuals who cultivate, promote, sustain, and support the arts in America.
Lead and serve individuals and organizations to help build environments in which the arts and arts education thrive and contribute to more vibrant and creative communities.
Generate meaningful public and private sector policies and more resources for the arts and arts education.
Build individual awareness and appreciation of the value of the arts and arts education.
Ensure the operational stability of the organization and its ability to respond creatively to opportunities and challenges.
One of the ways the above goals will be addressed is through our three year initative launching in 2015: Transforming America's Communities Through the Arts. This initative is designed to help leaders and the general public better understand arts and culture as central to creating and sustaining healthier, more vibrant communities in the United States. Read more about the five major strategies and dozen action projects falling under this initative in our news room or here.
