Tim Mikulski
State and Local Government Affairs Coordinator
Tim works with the Director of State and Local Government Affairs to promote and strengthen the State Arts Advocacy Network and Council with the goals to obtain higher levels of state and local arts funding, ensure arts education, and generally work to promote the arts on the state and local levels.
Prior to joining the staff of Americans for the Arts in August 2007, Tim served in various roles within the New Jersey General Assembly. He began working in the General Assembly Majority Office as an intern and continued on as a constituent relations associate upon graduation. He later took on the role of research associate, serving as committee aide to the Assembly Family, Women, and Children’s Services Committee.
For his last years with the Majority Office, he was named acting director of constituent relations. During that time, he also worked on two successful Assembly campaigns, serving as field coordinator and field director respectively.
Most recently, he spent the last year and a half working as policy director for Assemblywoman Nilsa Cruz-Perez.
A Southern New Jersey native, Tim graduated from The College of New Jersey in Ewing with a B.A. in political science and minor in journalism.
