  4. Register as an Emerging Leader
We are pleased to continue our work engaging the motivated minds of those arts professionals ages 35 and younger or with limited experience working in the arts. Throughout the convention, these emerging leaders will meet with seasoned professionals as well as their peers to advance their skills in and knowledge of the field thereby cultivating the next generation of arts leaders. Emerging leaders receive $50 off of their convention registration. A discounted emerging leader registration must be paid by a sponsoring organization to qualify for the discount. The discount is limited to one discount per organization. The emerging leader discount is not applicable to scholarship team registrants or other special offer recipients.
  5. Volunteer
Americans for the Arts is pleased to announce the opportunity of reduced convention registration fees for current Americans for the Arts members and full-time students who volunteer to work for eight hours during the conference. Volunteer duties primarily include helping staff with registration tables, monitoring sessions, securing the staff office, assisting with directing attendees during special events, and stuffing registration packets and "goodie" bags. Volunteers who work eight hours are entitled to a reduced convention registration fee of $175. (The regular member rate is $380.) This fee includes admittance to all daytime events and other conference activities that do not require a separate fee. Please note: Volunteers will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Volunteers will have the opportunity to select assignments prior to the convention. However, Americans for the Arts reserves the right to change or make new assignments as needed.

To apply for this volunteer program, download the volunteer application (pdf, 26KB). Complete applications can be mailed to the address below, e-mailed to Ryan Winfield at rwinfield@artusa.org, or faxed to 202.371.0424. The application deadline is March 16, 2007.
  6. Apply for a Scholarship
Americans for the Arts is pleased to provide a variety of scholarship opportunities to assist people with attending the convention if you are an emerging leader, represent an underserved community, or need financial assistance to attend the convention. Many state, statewide, and regional arts agencies also offer scholarships for people in their service area to attend the convention. This assistance is often in the form of registration or travel subsidies.
