Americans for the Arts Scholarships

Americans for the Arts is pleased to offer three types of scholarships to arts leaders throughout the country to assist them in participating in the Americans for the Arts 2007 Annual Convention. The purpose of these scholarships is to provide assistance for arts professionals to attend the convention to network with peers and share strategies for success.

The deadline for the Americans for the Arts scholarships has passed and all scholarships have been awarded.

State and Local Art Agency Scholarships

Many state, statewide, and regional arts agencies offer scholarships for people in their service areas to attend the convention. Assistance is often in the form of registration or travel subsidies. Subsidy opportunities are listed below in alphabetical order by state. Check back often, as a list of participating organizations, along with contact information and application deadlines, will be updated on a regular basis.

Details: Professional Development Grants to artists or arts organizations are awarded up to $500. The intent of these grants is as a learning/artistic/administrative development opportunity for the applicants, not primarily as a means to present or exhibit the applicant's work or serve as a speaker or panelist.

Details: Missouri Arts Council offers technical assistance grants for conference attendance to Missouri-based, tax-exempt, non-profit organizations whose primary purpose is to present or produce art.  Arts Services organizations may also apply.  Technical assistance grants help organizations develop defined administrative, artistic & technical skills.  Technical assistance grants will primarily support registration, travel and lodging, up to $750 per person, maximum $1500 per organization, per fiscal year.

Details: Requests for the Annual Conference under $500 may be submitted anytime up to two weeks before the conference. Requests in excess of $500 should be made by February 9th in order to be reviewed at the Commission’s March Quarterly meeting. Request for the National Arts Marketing Projects under $500 may be submitted anytime up to two weeks before the conference. Requests in excess of $500 should be submitted by August 13th in order to be reviewed at the Commission’s September 2007 quarterly meeting.
