Ross Binnie

Detroit Symphony Orchestra

Ross Binnie has served as the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s (DSO) vice president for sales and services since May 2003. In this role, Binnie is responsible for all new business development and customer service for the Max M. Fisher Music Center, including the supervision of single ticket and subscription sales and services. His role also includes the management of the DSO marketing team comprising public relations, advertising and promotions for all DSO programming as well as overseeing the Max M. Fisher Music Center’s two retail stores. Currently, he is also filling in as the head of the Orchestra’s development team, managing corporate and individual donations. In addition to his role at the DSO, Binnie is a guest lecturer in music business at Wayne State University in Detroit. Binnie joined the DSO as director of ticket services in 1999. He has worked for arts-related organizations throughout his career. Prior to the DSO, he held positions at the Dallas Museum of Art; Select Ticketing Systems in St. Albans, England; and Hackney Empire Theater in London. 

Binnie earned his Master of Business Administration from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas and Bachelor of Arts at University of Texas in Austin. A native of the United Kingdom, Binnie now lives in Windsor, Ontario with his wife and four children.
