Peter Linett is a partner at Slover Linett Strategies Inc., a Chicago-based firm providing audience research services to cultural and educational organizations. His clients include the Smithsonian Institution, the Art Institute of Chicago, the John G. Shedd Aquarium, the Delaware Theatre Company, Music of the Baroque, Chicago Public Radio, and the Terra Foundation for American Art.

Linett serves as book review editor at Curator, a peer-reviewed journal of museum scholarship and practice founded in 1958 at the American Museum of Natural History. His articles and reviews have appeared in its pages and in Museum News and the Wall Street Journal. Linett speaks regularly at conferences and leads a “book club” panel at the American Association of Museums’ annual meeting. He was an invited speaker at a Festschrift held at the University of Victoria in British Columbia on the intellectual legacy of Stephen Weil for the museum profession, and at the Art Institute of Chicago about the recent reinstallation at the Detroit Institute of Arts. He has guest lectured at the University of Chicago on the anthropology of museums.

Linett pursued graduate work in philosophical aesthetics and art history at the University of Chicago and holds a B.A.magna cum laude in music from Yale University. He lives in Chicago with his wife (and business partner) Cheryl and their twin daughters.
