Joel D. Rainville

Ordway Center for the Perfoming Arts
Joel D. Rainville joined the staff of Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in July 2005 and in his role as marketing coordinator, works to attract and build new audiences for Ordway Center’s various program offerings including the Planet Ordway Target Season, Flint Hills International Children’s Festival, and the Theater Season. Mr. Rainville also has principal management of the annual subscription campaign. To achieve this, Mr. Rainville develops community partnerships and fosters relationships with many constituencies. Mr. Rainville is the primary marketing liaison to the Ordway Center Cultural Advisory Council and the Ordway Circle of Stars, a separate fundraising organization dedicated to furthering the efforts of Ordway Center’s mission. He represents Ordway Center in many capacities within the community including as a member of the Arts and Culture Partnership of Saint Paul. Prior to his employment at Ordway Center, Mr. Rainville worked with the Minnesota Fringe Festival where he developed a plan of strategic marketing initiatives and a patron research program.
Mr. Rainville attended Saint John’s University where he studied marketing and communications and completed his undergraduate work at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota with a degree in business and marketing. He also holds a M.A. in arts and cultural administration from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. His master’s thesis was on modern subscription promotion. Outside of Ordway Center Mr. Rainville is on the Board of Directors of the Minneapolis Television Network, and he provides pro bono consultative services to several small nonprofit organizations.
