Sam Read
General Manager
Theatre Puget Sound

Sam Read, general manager, has been with Theatre Puget Sound (TPS) for four years. He came to Seattle in 1997 after graduating from Boise State University with a B.A. in theater performance. Sam has been deeply involved with the Seattle theater community, both as an artist and an administrator, for more than 10 years. He brings to Theatre Puget Sound an intimate understanding of the very community the organization is deemed to serve. He co-founded and continues to serve as artistic director of Seattle’s award-winning Burnt Studio Productions, an eclectic performing arts organization now serving the West Seattle community. He has also worked with various Northwest arts organizations including Washington State Arts Alliance, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, ReAct Theatre, Seattle Public Theater, and Northwest Playwrights Alliance. In addition, his five years spent working in the corporate world lend a duality to his skills and outlook that serves TPS well as we strive to build valuable bridges between art, business, and community.
