Mark Dion

Mark Dion’s work explores art, archeology, natural history, and collection systems. His Bartram’s Travels—Reconsidered (on view June 2007) examines William Bartram’s botanical discoveries through an installation in the original house at Bartram’s Gardens in Philadelphia. Dion’s 2002 Urban Wildlife Observation Unit for the Public Art Fund created an interactive ecological center in Madison Square. He has exhibited worldwide, including the Miami Art Museum, Kunsthalle Zurich, Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Skulptur Projekte (Munster, Germany), Olympic Sculpture Garden (Seattle,WA), Museum of Modern Art, and the Tate Britain.
