Lauren Hess
Arts Project Manager
CET, Cincinnati's PBS station
Lauren Hess is the arts projects manager at CET, Cincinnati’s PBS station. She began her education career in Buffalo, NY, where she taught for eight years as a high school music teacher. After completing her M.A. in arts administration from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, she became program director of the Association for the Advancement of Arts Education (AAAE). During her tenure at AAAE, Lauren helped to develop and implement Arts Connections, an innovative arts integration program focusing on professional development and artist residencies for teams of PreK-12 teachers. She has worked with numerous large and small arts organizations in the Greater Cincinnati area, including the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Opera, and the Cincinnati Art Museum, developing teacher materials and workshops that explore the uniqueness of the arts and their ability to connect with other subject areas. She has also worked as an arts integration consultant with ArtsTeach in Charlotte, NC. Lauren currently serves as president of the board of the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education, Ohio’s statewide arts education service organization.
