Network & Peer Group Meetings

Everyone is invited to drop in on a network or peer group meeting. At these informal sessions, peer professionals share their thoughts on the convention, meet new colleagues with similar interests, and catch up with old friends.
Business Volunteers for the Arts 101—Growing numbers of newly unemployed professionals are looking to volunteer their time and skills. Learn about how the Business Volunteers for the Arts Program might benefit your arts community.
Creative Aging Peer Group—This group discussion will address the research, effective practices, resources, and global trends supporting community-based program development between arts organizations and aging services.
Creative Economy Peer Group—Connect with creative economy practitioners and funders. This peer group session will cover best practices, successes and challenges, and emerging issues in the creative economic development field.
Emerging Leaders Network—It’s all about people. Join us for a session designed to introduce you, and your most innovative ideas, to colleagues from around the country. Come to this network meeting of lively introductions, thought-provoking questions and light-hearted idea-swapping. The hour is yours, so make it your own! Bring some business cards, and leave with meaningful connections that will help you grow your work in a national context of your peers.
Public Art Network Roundtable Discussions—Topics include Green Public Art Projects: Artist Selection Best Practices; Public Art Conservation and Maintenance; Strategies for Eco-Art Success: Moving from Idea to Action; and The Power of Innovative Art in Parks
State Art Agency Community Development Coordinators—This is a peer networking opportunity for state arts agency community development staff members to discuss program initiatives and the current environment. We’ll also strategize about how to be effective in our work.
United Arts Funds 101—Interested in starting a UAF? Join UAF managers to discuss logistics of start-ups as well as problems faced by established UAFs.

Arts Education Network—The Arts Education Network has identified seven major trends in the arts education field, including key issues and programs that exemplify solutions to arts education barriers. During this hour, we will share the trends and gather feedback.
Creative Economy Peer Group—Connect with creative economy practitioners and funders. This peer group session will cover best practices, successes and challenges, and emerging issues in the creative economic development field.
Diverse Cultures Peer Group—If you missed the Diverse Cultures advance workshop, or wish to continue the discussion, this interest area meeting will consist of an Open Dialogue focused on issues affecting the sustainability of arts organizations serving communities of color in the United States.
Emerging Leaders Network—Join emerging leaders from across the country and the local Seattle Network to discuss starting and growing an Emerging Leaders Network in your community. Connect with other interested attendees, and find out how the Americans for the Arts Emerging Leader Council can support you.
Meet the NEA—An opportunity to meet with representatives from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and discuss the agency’s funding opportunities.
