Housing Reservation Instructions
Reservation DeadlinesHousing reservations must be made through the Seattle Housing Bureau by Friday, May 22, 2009. After this date, the conference rate may no longer be available. Continue to contact the Seattle Housing Bureau for new reservations and changes until May 29, 2009. After this date, contact the hotels directly with any requests.
How to Make a Housing Reservation
Select only one of the following methods to request your housing reservation for the Americans for the Arts Annual Convention.

- All reservations must be made through the Seattle Housing Bureau.
- Reservations are processed on a first come first served basis
- Only one reservation per form
- All reservations are subject to a 15.6 percent tax charge
- Reservation cancellations and modifications will be accepted through the bureau until May 29, 2009. After this date cancellations and modifications must be made directly with the hotel.
- A first night room and tax non refundable fee will be charged to all cancellations made within 72 hours of arrival and no shows.
- Confirmations will be sent immediately by email if booked online or by phone. Reservations sent by fax or mail will be processed and confirmation sent within 72 hours of receipt of the form.

Travel
Air Travel
Americans for the Arts has made it easy for you to come to the 2009 Annual Convention. Contact Diplomat Travel Services for discounts and special fares by telephone at 800.476.2333 or 703.318.9400 or by e-mail at diplomat@diplomattravel.com and be sure to identify yourself as an Americans for the Arts 2009Annual Convention attendee and have your preferred arrival, departure, and payment information ready. Please be advised that Diplomat Travel charges a $32 booking fee for all airline reservations and charges a $10 fee for car or hotel booking if air is not booked with them. Diplomat Travel is also unable to help with air reservation made online if problems should arise.
Ground Transportation
A variety of transportation services are available at the Seattle Tacoma (SEA-TAC) Airport.
The Ground Transportation Information Booths are located across from Baggage Claim Area Carousel 12 on the third floor of the Parking Garage. You may also dial 55 from any Traveler’s Information Board at the base of Baggage Claim escalators for ground transportation information.
Downtown Seattle is approximately 20 minutes from the SEA-TAC Airport.
Shuttle Service
Available around the clock departing every 20 minutes and is $11 one-way and $18 round trip.
Taxi Service
Available and is approximately $35 for one-way transport.
Car Rental
Nine rental car companies have information counters in the Baggage Claim area.
Parking
Hotel parking is available on a daily basis as follows:
- Sheraton Seattle: $38/day
- Renaissance Seattle: $28/day
- Crowne Plaza: $19/day and $30/overnight
- Red Lion: $25/day and $34.95/overnight
