Richard Meier

Richard Meier began his architectural career in 1962 when he established his New York office. His practice has included major civic commissions such as courthouses and city halls in the United States and Europe; museums; corporate headquarter; and housing and private residences. His most well know projects include the J. Paul Getty Center in Los Angeles; Atlanta’s High Museum; the Frankfurt Museum for Decorative Arts in Germany; Canal Plus Television Headquarters in Paris; the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art in Spain; and the Atheneum in New Harmony, Indiana. He has received many of the architecture industry’s highest awards including the Pritzker Prize for Architecture, the field’s highest honor; and the AIA Gold Medal, the highest award from the American Institute of Architects. Meier has taught at Cooper Union, Princeton University, Pratt Institute, Harvard University, Yale University and the University of California-Los Angeles.
