As part of the Indianapolis community’s celebration of National Arts in Education Week (September 11 – 17), Any Given Child Indy and the Arts Council of Indianapolis will officially kickoff the week at the Indianapolis Artsgarden on September 12.
This event will give members of the public an opportunity to celebrate Mayor Joe Hogsett’s proclamation of September 11 – 17 as “Indianapolis Arts in Education Week” with student performances and several brief presentations by local organizations. During this event, attendees will learn about the Week of Giving and how they can support the efforts of 26 local arts organizations that are working within Indianapolis Public Schools. Any Given Child Indy will also unveil its 2016 – 2017 Action Plan, which includes goals and strategies that will increase access to arts education for IPS Students.

NATIONAL ARTS IN EDUCATION WEEK, SEPTEMBER 11 – 17
This kickoff celebration is just one of the many activities that have been planned to celebrate National Arts in Education Week in Indianapolis from September 11 – 17, 2016. Designated by Congress in 2010, through House Resolution 275, National Arts in Education Week is a national celebration that promotes and showcases the important role of the arts in education.
