National Arts and Humanities Month

Take Action

Take the opportunity during National Arts and Humanities Month to advocate for the arts. Anyone can be an advocate: parents, teachers, children, artists, arts organizations, and patrons. Defend, support, or promote your cause by writing your local newspaper, contacting local political leaders, organizing community meetings, creating your own PSA and posting it on YouTube, or finding other ways to make your voice and message heard.

The Arts Action Center gives you the resources necessary to take action on behalf of the arts. Stay up-to-date on arts policy issues and learn what actions you can take to make a difference. Use local media outlets to disseminate the facts and your opinions about the importance of the arts in your community. Determine who your local, state, and federal elected representatives are, how to contact them, and how to communicate with them effectively.
