Meri Mass is the Executive Director of the Polk Arts Alliance, which is the Polk County, designated Arts Agency for all of Polk County Florida, representing more than 41 cultural arts organizations throughout the county. Meri has been in Lakeland since 2005 and had her own strategic marketing company, Mass Communications. Prior to coming to Lakeland Meri was Vice President of Marketing for the Palm Beach County Economic Development Office, the Business Development Board; Chair the Creative Industries; Aviation & Aerospace cluster groups for Palm Beach County. Prior to that Meri was in marketing, public relations and publications at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach.
She has served on many boards advocating the arts in the state of Florida, including the G-Star School of Film & the Arts; the Variety Club of the Palm Beaches; Americans With Disabilities Consortium at the Kennedy Center; past president of historic Polk Theatre; is an advocate promoting the importance of the Creative Industries; represents Polk County Arts in Tallahassee Florida ; recently hosted the Annual Florida Alliance for Arts Education Summit: 67 Pathways to Success; is an advocate promoting the STEM to STEAM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) initiative working with Polk County school board, colleges and univeristies; launched Polk county’s inaugural Heart of the Arts month this October in and received a county proclamation.
Meri is passionate about the importance of the cultural arts in education, economic development, community sustainability and quality of life.
