University of Pittsburgh Teams Up with Carnegie Art Museum and The Andy Warhol Museum
July 2007—Through the recently launched Art and Medicine program, medical students at the University of Pittsburgh will hone their visual thinking and observational skills by studying art at Carnegie Museum of Art and The Andy Warhol Museum. The four-week course will introduce students to a systematic process for approaching a work of art for the first time and determining its story by examining point of view, context, and the effect of framing or presentation on analysis and practice. The museum/medical school partnership was inspired by similar collaborations between Yale Center for British Art and Yale University Medical School, and the Frick Collection and Weill Cornell Medical School. Creativity Connection Showcased in Arts and Business Event
November 2006—Creativity Connection partnered with the Entrepreneurs Organization, a unique community of highly successful entrepreneurs, to present an Evening of Arts and Business on November 15th at the historic Players’ Club in New York. The event provided a select group of entrepreneurs and business leaders the opportunity to engage in a variety of hands-on, arts-based learning workshops, and revealed how learning programs based in music, film, drawing, theater, and dance can help businesses surface creativity and foster innovation. The event culminated with an interactive panel discussion on the burgeoning field of arts-based learning in business, accompanied by short films and artwork created by participants earlier in the evening.

Creativity Connection Launches New Partnership with The Second City

Through his internationally recognized “15 Minutes of Fame” workshops, Leskowitz and his team of film industry veterans challenge business professionals to flex their right-brain muscles and uphold creative visions under pressure as they make short films. During these hands-on, experiential workshops, business participants are responsible for everything from scripting to shooting, acting, and directing - and at the end of the sessions, the films are screened in a gala-awards banquet. New Guthrie Theater Launches Art Of Business Institute
September 2006—With a state-of-the-art Education Center now a part of the Guthrie Theater’s new and improved home on the Minneapolis waterfront, the Guthrie Learning Center is excited to launch the first semester its Art of Business Institute (ABI) in September. As the latest program of the Learning Center, which has been bringing arts education to the public since 1963, the ABI will inspire new methods of business practice in the region’s corporate community by offering arts-based education programs designed to help business professionals weave creativity into their work. Developed and taught by the leading artists of American theater, ABI will offer such courses as “Theater Strategies for Attorneys” and “Leadership Skills Through the Eyes of Shakespeare” that cover everything from presentation and performance skills to the power of language.
