Topic: Creative Economies: Cultural Products
Creative economies rely on a wealth of cultural services as well as the production of cultural goods, namely visual art works and handmade crafts. The buying and selling of cultural products contribute to the local, national, and global economy. The production and marketing of cultural goods have a direct impact on the economic stability and viability of a community—be it rural, suburban, or urban. Cultural identity and heritage are manifested in traditional crafts and artifacts that reflect the artist and his/her environment, legacy, and experience.
