Arts Education in Public Schools
For many of America's youth, public schools serve as the major provider of arts instruction. Therefore, it is critical that the arts are provided within a school district's educational mission and that they are adequately supported.
Americans for the Arts hosts information about the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) and arts education. This web page seeks to inform advocates about, provide context for, and offer more information on the relationship between arts education and NCLB.
The public awareness campaign, Art. Ask for More., rallies the support and influence of parents to ensure full access to high-quality arts education for all students.
Americans for the Arts has partnered with the National School Boards Association (NSBA) to provide local education decision-makers with the necessary tools to effect positive change for arts education in their schools. Visit the Online Resource Center: Arts Education in Public Schools to learn more about NSBA, arts education, and what you can do to support arts education. In addition to this resource, Americans for the Arts provides arts education information to the constituencies of both NSBA and the National PTA.
