Victoria Plettner-Saunders is an independent arts consultant and holds a Master’s Degree in Arts Administration/Arts Education from the University of Oregon. Plettner-Saunders’ passion for arts education advocacy and the role of community partnerships in arts education have greatly influenced her work. In addition to working with Cultural+Planning Group on an Arts Education Strategic Plan for the City of San José’s Office of Cultural Affairs, Plettner-Saunders has conducted arts education and community arts assessments for the City of San José and the Millard Sheets Center for the Arts at Fairplex.

Victoria has managed or led small and mid-sized arts organizations and spent seven years with the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture before establishing her own consulting business in arts and culture management, arts education, community arts and leadership development. Plettner-Saunders has a particular interest in strengthening efforts to support the next generation of arts and culture leaders and has published several articles on this issue for CultureWork as well as conducted statewide leadership research for the James Irvine Foundation. In 2009, Victoria successfully led a community advocacy effort to keep the Visual and Performing Arts Department at the San Diego Unified School District.
