Council Committee Descriptions

Expanding Relations Committee
The purpose of the Expanding Relations committee is to increase engagement of the Americans for the Arts emerging leaders with the larger field and to serve as national resource for developing leadership, thus increasing engagement of emerging leaders in the field with Americans for the Arts and the Emerging Leader Council. This is a new committee and the members continue to engage in discussion on its goals.

Funding Advisory Committee
The role of the Funding Advisory Committee is to provide means of enhancing resources for continuing and expanding the programs of the Emerging Leader Council. The responsibilities of this committee include researching funding options and writing draft proposals.

The chair for this committee is Essence Newhoff—Director of Major Gifts, Folger Shakespeare Library, Washington, DC. Please send Essence any suggestions you have for the Funding Advisory Committee.

Meetings and Convenings Committee
The purpose of the Meetings and Convenings Committee is to aide in the development of emerging leader networking opportunities and/or community meetings and to provide a presence for the emerging leader program at the Americans for the Arts Annual Convention.

The chair for this committee is David Dombrosky—Contemporary Arts Manager, Southern Arts Federation, Atlanta. Please send David any suggestions you have for the Meetings and Convenings Committee.

Web/Listserv Committee
The Web/Listserv Committee advises Americans for the Arts on technology-related issues. The committee assists in developing the content on the emerging leader web page of the Americans for the Arts website; updating the emerging leader webpage content on a quarterly basis; and overseeing and prompting conversation on the emerging leader listserv.
