Teniqua Broughton
Teniqua Broughton is program director at Free Arts of Arizona, nonprofit organization that brings therapeutic creative arts program to abused, homeless, and at-risk children through Maricopa County. Her responsibilities include administrative and operational management, supervising arts education and development activities, negotiating contracts, grantwriting, and strategic planning. Teniqua has more than 10 years of combined experience in providing both direct services for children with emotional or behavioral disorders and serving in coordinator/manager positions in which she provided administrative leadership and staff/resource management in Cultural Participation Department at Arizona State University Gammage. Teniqua continues to provide leadership on the Journey Home program for incarcerated women in collaboration with the Maricopa County Estrella Jail and local artists as well as serving as project manager for Arts Leading Learning Model (ALLM) at Desert Harbor Elementary School in the Peoria Unified School District. Teniqua is president-elect for the Arizona Alliance for Arts Education, holding a master’s degree in educational administration and supervision and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies in educational psychology, with an emphasis on theater for youth.
