Ben Fyffe
Ben Fyffe is the arts & education programs specialist for the City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department, where he works to interface the programs and needs of artists, arts organizations, and schools. He also oversees the Community Arts Program, bringing artists into classrooms and neighborhood spaces.  Previously, Fyffe was youth docent program coordinator at the Austin Museum of Art and most recently assistant head of education at the El Paso Museum of Art, where he directed a bilingual touring program that served 25,000 students annually; produced exhibition-related curriculum distributed biannually to 16,000 educators throughout Texas’ Region 19; and managed outreach to at-risk schools along the U.S.-Mexico Border. Fyffe juried the 2005 Texas Biennial and has curated several exhibitions, including YLA 10: The 10thYoung Latino Artists Exhibition at Austin’s Mexic-Arte Museum, under a program encouraging young Latino curators to showcase emerging artists’ work. Fyffe has led workshops fostering children’s and underserved audience’s accessibility to visual art throughout Texas.  Fyffe holds a B.A. in art history from the University of Texas at Austin and was a 2007 Wallace Foundation Fellow. He is also a member of the National Association of Latino Arts & Culture and the National Art Education Association.
