Letitia Fernandez Ivins
Letitia Fernandez Ivins is the Assistant Director of Civic Art at the Los Angeles County Arts Commission. She was drawn to the public art field with a passion for contemporary art, particularly that which has a presence in the public sphere, investigates social, environmental and aesthetic conditions, incites meaningful experiences for a broad public, and inspires social critique and change.
In this role, she collaborates with artists, government stakeholders, capital project managers, and community members to produce innovative and transformative artwork for public spaces. She has worked in the arts sector for 10 years at the Getty Foundation, Ryman Arts, and the Arts Commission. She is a board member of the Pilipino Worker’s Center, a board advisor to Outpost for Contemporary Art, a co-chair of the Public Art Coalition of Southern California, and one of the founding members of the Emerging Arts Leaders Los Angeles network. In her free time she rears a toddler and makes mixed media and metal jewelry.
