With an inherent attraction to creativity and community engagement, Kirstin focuses her energies on creating environments for participants to evaluate and unpack shared experiences using facilitated dialogue as a medium. Kirstin works at Forecast Public Art as the Director of Education and Community Engagement where she employs her background as an artist, teaching artist and administrator to bringing public art concepts and experiences to educational and community settings. Previously, she worked with Ordway Center for Performing Arts developing and implementing a diverse range of arts education programming in schools and community centers that culminated in an international children’s festival. Kirstin’s passion lies in building capacity among administrators, teaching artists and educators to better serve the arts.

A native Kansan, Kirstin taught at the Lawrence Art Center in all areas of the visual arts and for all ages. Kirstin relocated to the Twin Cities to pursue a Masters in Arts and Cultural Management, and has since joined the faculty to teach Cultural Policy and Leadership. Kirstin holds a BFA with an emphasis in ceramics and loves public art. Her favorite past time is making pickles from the garden.
