Schedule

The field of public art is growing by leaps and bounds, bringing new voices and approaches into the mix. • Essential Program Partnerships: Pre-conference sessions that focus on this theme examine the relationships that are essential to a successful public art program, and discuss the ways public art fits into the larger context of urban planning and community design. Building alliances within local government, gaining public recognition and support, creating partnerships with the private sector, and positioning public art to be a catalyst for community development and civic design solutions will be discussed.
  • Project Team Building: The Essential Mix: Pre-conference sessions that focus on team building explore the relationships and roles of artists, public art professionals, and design and construction professionals in the creation of public art projects.
