Tour: Doernbecher Children's Hospital and Woodstock Library Public Art Tour

Tour Description:
Public art conferened attendees toured this state-of-the-art children’s hospital, which is home to a significant art program funded by a local family. Artists were commissioned to create work throughout the facility, including the entrance, lobbies, play spaces, patient rooms, and a meditation space. Commissioned artists included are Frank Boyden, Brad Rude, Kim Stafford, Margot Thompson, Valerie Otani, Suzanne Lee, Rosalie Sherman, Jim Hirschfield and Sonya Ishii, Fernanda D’Agostino, Elizabeth Stanek, and Wayne Chabre.

After touring the hospital, the group visited the new Woodstock branch library with works by Margot Thompson and Kim Stafford. Margot Thompson and Kim Stafford were at both sites to discuss their work and the public art process at both locations.
