Americans for the Arts' Public Art Network
Year In Reveiew Slide Sets
If you are looking for quality information and images about contemporary public art in America, the Year In Review Slide Sets are an ideal resource. They are exceptional planning tool for communities developing public art programs and project, and an invaluable visual resource for educators, libraries, universities, art commissions, consultants, and designers. The slide sets are based on the annual Year In Review session presented at the public art conference organized by the Public Art Network. You can view the slide sets on-line or order them in our bookstore.

  • 2004 Year in Review CD ROM and Slide Set
    PAN is pleased to make the popular Year In Review available on a CD Rom for the first time! The 2004 Year In Review was created by Glenn Harper, editor of Sculpture Magazine, and artist Ellen Driscoll. They presented their selections for the most exciting and innovative public art projects at Public Art: Civic Catalyst in Washington, DC in July 2004. Thier selections include 140 images of 46 projects from across the country. The CD Rom includes the on-lineflash presentation, a folder with individual JPG images so you can build your own slide presentations, and an annotatated slide script. The slide set includes color 35mm slides and an annotated slide script. The cost is $125 for American for the Arts members, $150 for nonmembers.   • 2003 Year in Review Slide Set
    This slide set is based on the Year In Review public art conference session presented by writers Patricia Phillips and Henry Sayre in Portland, Oregon in June 2003. They selected over 30 of the most innovative public art projects that were completed since May 2002. The 2003 Year In Review Slide Set contains 107 color slides and a 37 page annotated slide script, which includes a project description, commission details, and artist contact information.     Based on the 2001 Year In Review session presented by Harriet Senie and Jack Becker, this valuable resource offers 155 color slides of 37 public art projects with an annotated slide list. The set covers a broad and exciting range of artworks completed since 1999, including transit, airport, pedestrian bridge, infrastructure, parking lot, school, water treatment plant, park, greenway, fire station, and library sites. Design team, integrated, and temporary public art approaches are highlighted, in addition to free-standing artworks. The set is $138 for Americans for the Arts members, $168 for non-members. Art on File
If you need to search for public art images, this is a good place to start. This organization sells and distributes quality slides of over 6,000 images of public art, architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design. They maintain an easy to use online database. They sell both individual slides as well as collections of slides on certain topic, such as temporary public art in gardens. This program has two sets of slides, each containing 50 slides, available for purchase. Each set includes 2-4 slides per project, and a brief project description.
