KRIS Wines is partnering with Americans for the Arts on a new campaign recognizing the importance of public art in American communities, and will award a total of $25,000 in prizes to artists through the #KRISArtofGiving campaign. Starting today through October 31, 2016, members of the public can vote up to once per day at www.kriswine.com/giving for their favorite project. KRIS will award the artist with the greatest number of votes at the end of the campaign with a top prize of $10,000. The artists of the next seven works that receive the most number of votes will also receive cash prizes for a total of $25,000 in grants.

Public art can take many forms, including murals, public sculpture, sound and digital media installations, and interactive works, and can be installed in any public setting. The 101 projects participating this year reflect that diversity in the field. They span 23 states, a wide variety of materials and styles, and can be found all over the place—from schools, to parks, to municipal buildings, airports, and even parking garages. These projects, and public art installations everywhere, serve to activate public spaces and build community vitality.
