On May 15, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) held an Open Meeting to consider whether to advance a notice of proposed agency rulemaking on net neutrality. The notice was considered in light of the DC Circuit Court of Appeals’ remand of portions of the FCC’s previous 2010 Open Internet Order in January 2014 in its decision in Verizon v. FCC.

Her nomination will now advance to the full U.S. Senate for an anticipated speedy confirmation vote.

The annual congressional letters to the U.S. House and Senate Appropriations Committees saw boosted support; the bipartisan House letter led by Congressional Arts Caucus co-Chairs Reps. Louise Slaughter (D-NY) and Leonard Lance (R-NJ) received 134 signatures! Last year, the letter yielded 95 signatures.
