Americans for the Arts and The Seattle Office of Arts & Culture will host the annual National Arts Marketing Project Conference at The Westin Seattle in Seattle, Washington on November 9-12, 2018. The largest gathering of arts marketers in the country, the conference is a critical forum for arts marketers to discuss the newest and most important marketing tools, the rapidly shifting demographics and behaviors of consumers, as well as how arts and culture organizations can best remain relevant in a time of flux and uncertainty.

According to a new survey by The Conference Board and Americans for the Arts, nearly a quarter of companies expect to increase their funding for the arts in the next 12 months and only 7 percent expect a decrease. These increases will likely be driven by increased overall philanthropy budgets. The study also found that nearly all companies are engaged with the arts community, complementing the support for the sector delivered through the National Endowment of the Arts.

Americans for the Arts today released Americans Speak Out About the Arts in 2018, one of the largest national public opinion surveys of American perceptions and attitudes towards the arts and arts funding. The new research demonstrates that Americans continue to be highly engaged in the arts and believe more strongly than ever that the arts promote personal well-being, help us understand other cultures, are essential to a well-rounded education, and that government has an important role in funding the arts.

Americans for the Arts reported that more than 800 celebrations were held in communities across the nation for the 8th annual National Arts in Education Week, September 9-15 – a significant uptick compared with 428 in 2017. The celebrations ranged from block parties to city hall meetings to online visibility campaigns.

Lynch was named to 2018 NPT Power & Influence Top 50, an annual list in its 21st year highlighting the nonprofit sector’s top working executives for innovation and influence on the broader sector. This is the fourth year Lynch has been recognized by the publication for his leadership for Americans for the Arts. He was previously recognized in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
