Alecia Townsend Kintner is deputy director of the Greater Hartford Arts Council, a $5 million agency with 20 staff members. Since 1997, she has managed its united arts fund, which now raises $3.5 million annually. In the past 10 years, she has averaged 9.85 percent growth in revenue with a 16.5 percent increase in 2004. Alicia has been a member of the United Arts Fund Council since 2005. She has taken a leadership role in the annual preconference through presentations on workplace giving and, coordinating with Jeff Hawthorne, developing the UAF 101 program. Alecia is an attentive and patient coach for young and up-and-coming staff; she is also an energetic and insightful team builder for whatever task is at hand. Alecia's combination of business and fundraising acumen, combined with highly disciplined work habits and a tremendous empathy for the artists and cultural organizations we serve, bring her considerable respect from peers, donors, and community leaders. Her professional interests include regional marketing, city beautification, and collaborative/alternative arts funding mechanisms. A Hartford resident, she holds a Master's Degree in business administration and a B.A. in performing arts journalism from schools in her native Southern California.
