Americans for the Arts Announces 2005 Convention Scholarship Winners
Washington, DC—May 26, 2005. Americans for the Arts announced today the recipients of full scholarships, including travel and lodging, to the 2005 Americans for the Arts Annual Convention—called Leading the Charge—in Austin, Texas, from June 11–13, 2005. These scholarships provide an opportunity for emerging leaders and those working in underserved communities to network with peers, gain professional development at workshops, and bring new ideas and skills back to the communities they serve.
Accommodations for the full convention scholarship recipients were provided by the convention site, the Hilton Austin, and travel was provided by Delta Airlines. Reimbursement scholarships were also awarded both for the convention and for preconferences on emerging leaders, public art, and united arts funds.
The full convention scholarships were awarded on a competitive basis and presented to five emerging leaders and five arts leaders working in underserved communities. This year’s full convention scholarship winners are as follows:

The Americans for the Arts recipients of preconference reimbursement scholarships are arts leaders attending the 2005 public art, united arts funds, or emerging leader preconferences. These scholarship awardees receive $500 to cover preconference registration, travel, housing, or other expenses incurred by attending the preconferences. The recipients are as follows:
