Americans for the Arts Announces 2006 Convention Scholarship Winners
Washington, DC — May 16, 2006 — Americans for the Arts announced today the recipients of full scholarships, including travel and lodging, to the Americans for the Arts 2006 Annual Convention—Living Cultural Democracy: Arts In Changing Communities—in Milwaukee, WI, June 3–5. These scholarships provide an opportunity for emerging leaders and those working in underserved communities to network with peers, gain professional development at workshops, and bring new ideas and skills back to the communities they serve.
Accommodations for the full convention scholarship recipients will be provided by the convention site, the Hilton Milwaukee City Center in Milwaukee, WI, and travel will be provided by Midwest Airlines. Other scholarships were also awarded for both the convention and for its preconferences on arts education, public art, and united arts funds.
The full convention scholarships were awarded on a competitive basis and presented to five emerging leaders and five arts leaders working in underserved communities. This year's full convention scholarship winners are:

The Americans for the Arts recipients of preconference scholarships are arts leaders attending the 2006 public art, united arts funds, or arts education preconferences. These scholarship awardees receive three nights' paid accommodations at the convention hotel, the Hilton Milwaukee City Center, courtesy of Hilton. The recipients are as follows:
