Two New Board Members for Americans for the Arts

Washington, DC—January 8, 2007—Americans for the Arts, the nation’s leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America, announces two additions to its 48-member Board of Directors. The group collectively includes leaders in the areas of business, cultural policy, and the arts from across the country.

“As Americans for the Arts works to further its mission to advance the arts in America, these two excellent leaders will greatly enhance our ability to achieve our goals and the vision of access to the arts for all Americans. We are thrilled to announce that we now have 48 dedicated and hard-working board members,” stated Robert L. Lynch, president and CEO of Americans for the Arts.

Brief bios of new board members follow:

James Counts Early serves as director of Cultural Heritage Policy at the Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage at the Smithsonian Institution. Prior to his work with the Smithsonian, Mr. Early was a humanist administrator at the National Endowment for the Humanities in Washington, DC; a producer, writer, and host of Ten Minutes Left, a weekly radio segment of cultural, educational, and political interviews and commentary at WHUR-FM radio at Howard University; and a research associate for programs and documentation.

Noemi Pollack is president and CEO of The Pollack PR Marketing Group (PPMG). Under her guidance, the agency has grown into a full service agency, servicing start-up firms, organizations, and Fortune 500 companies alike in their marketing communications programs. Additionally, Noemi’s personal background—a graduate of The Juilliard School of Music and steeped in the international classical music world—has enabled the agency to add a focus on performing arts organizations and related organizations.
