Forum for New Ideas

Cause Related Marketing Successful
A new consumer behavior study by Cone Inc. and Duke University's Fuqua School of Business reported that cause related marketing can increase sales by as much as 74%.  However, only 58% of Americans believe companies are providing enough details about their cause marketing efforts.  For information,

Museums Respond to Economic Crisis After Building Boom
After a nationwide boom in museum expansions, museums must find ways to cover costs of operating new wings, paying for staff and in some cases, finish paying for construction.  New wings and galleries were supported by donations from many Wall Street executives whose continued support is not guaranteed. A handful of museums also financed expansions with bond issues which face climbing adjustable interest rates.

Gap Highlights Employees Volunteerism Through Corporate Creativity
Gap, Inc. launched a pilot contest called "Press Play: be the Change." Employees were encouraged to submit homemade videos of their volunteer efforts.  Employees, friends, families, customers and nonprofits voted on the submissions.  Winning videos received $10,000, $7,500 and $5,000 for their featured nonprofit.  For information, www.pressplayatgap.com and www.onphilanthropy.com.   

Ready to Innovate 
U.S. employers rate creativity/innovation among the top five skills that will increase in importance over the next five years, and stimulating innovation/creativity and enabling entrepreneurship is among the top 10 challenges of U.S. CEOs. But how to foster creativity in new entrants to the U.S. workforce? Daimler Financial and Kennedy Center Team Up for Arts Education 
A new education program at the John F.
