Ms. Saori Murphy
Saori Murphy is an artist, teacher, and spiritual intuitive based in St. Petersburg, Florida. A former US Army Veteran who has suffered from PTS, depression, and anxiety; Saori became an advocate for healing through the arts. She is the Director and Facilitator of Veteran HeART Circles, a program based on the core belief that art, mindfulness, and community can help heal, connect, and nurture the mind, body, and human spirit.
Saori serves as the Veteran Coordinator for Art2Action Inc.'s Veteran Arts Program in Tampa, and volunteers with the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch, University of South Florida, and other local outreach programs.
Saori also facilitates intuitive painting and expressive arts classes in the community utilizing practices such as meditation, movement, and sound to help create sacred spaces for internal exploration and the honoring of one's creative voice and inner wisdom.
A graduate of Ringling School of Art and Design, Saori has been creating artwork for more than 25 years. Her work has been featured at the South Florida Museum, Morean Arts Center, Palladium Theater, and Straz Center for the Performing Arts. She is a certified Intuitive Painting and Expressive Arts Facilitator, and is listed in the online National Initiative Directory with the National Initiative for the Arts & Health in the Military at Americans for the Arts.
