Erika Boardman Kraft joined the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission as Education Director in 2005 with over 30 years of experience in performing arts, arts education and non-profit arts administration. She redesigned and built the arts education program at the Arts Commission into a dynamic integrated system of professional development, model programs for schools and community organizations, and career opportunities for teaching artists. Erika also serves as a founding board member of the Teaching Artist Supportive Collaborative of California. In Massachusetts, she co-founded a performing arts center and music school, Indian Hill Music, a regional institution serving 50 cities and towns. Erika continues to perform as a pianist and has served on piano faculties in college, studio and music school settings for 30 years. She has an M.S. in Community Development through the Arts from UC Davis, a B.M. in Music Therapy from University of the Pacific, and completed the work for a B.M. in Piano Performance from the University of Wisconsin.
