Mr. Joel Rainville
Joel D. Rainville has been in leading positions in arts marketing for more than ten years; currently serving as the Director of Sales and Marketing at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres; the nation’s largest professional dinner theatre, located 20 miles from Downtown Minneapolis. Joel, with a team of over 40 full and part-time staff, is responsible for all earned revenue for the organization that welcomes over 220,000 patrons annually.
Prior to joining the team at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, Joel worked at The Ordway in Saint Paul and prior to that at the Minnesota Fringe Festival where he developed that organization’s first strategic marketing plan and a patron research program. Joel attended Saint John’s University where he studied Marketing and Communications and holds an MA in Arts and Cultural Administration from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. His master’s thesis was on Modern Subscription Promotion. Outside of Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, Joel is active with local civic and community groups. He served on the Board of Directors of the Minneapolis Television Network, most recently as its board chair. He continues to consult with small and medium nonprofit organizations in the areas of marketing, fundraising, administration, and board governance and planning. Joel enjoys sharing his passion for arts marketing and building audiences. He is newly married to his husband, Kyle. They, together with their two French Bulldogs Charlotte and Gertrude, live in Minneapolis. He enjoys traveling, cooking, entertaining friends, and spending any extra free time on a boat in Minnesota's lake country.
