Ms. Leah Hamilton
Leah Hamilton (M.S., Arts Administration) works as an independent arts consultant and researcher. Prior to moving to consulting work in 2016, Hamilton served as Instructor and Director for the undergraduate Arts Administration program at Drury University in Missouri and gained in-field experience as the Executive Director of the leading arts agency in Southwest Missouri, the Springfield Regional Arts Council.
Hamilton recently completed her Master’s thesis at Drexel University titled “Arts Facility Emergency Preparedness in the State of Missouri,” and was awarded the Academic Excellence Award by the university in 2016. She is an emerging researcher in cultural and societal issues surrounding emergency planning for arts facilities, as well as international cultural policy. Most recently, Hamilton presented her emergency planning research at the 2016 International Conference for Social Theory, Politics, and the Arts.
Hamilton was named Springfield (Mo.) Business Journal’s top 40 under 40 (2009) and Most Influential Woman (2012) for her work in the arts in Missouri. She currently serves as a board member for Missouri Citizens for the Arts and is a proud member of Americans for the Arts and AAAE (Arts Administration Educators Association).
