
John Rubsamen

John Rubsamen has been managing conventions, tradeshows, and events for more than 13 years. He joins Americans for the Arts from SmithBucklin Corporation where he managed events for multiple associations including the Museum Trustees Association, Regional Airline Association, Health Care Supply Chain Association, and the Pedorthic Foot Care Association. His experience in event management ranges from small VIP events to large tradeshows with 150,000 square feet of exhibit space. John has also planned several international events across the Americas and Europe. He brings a strong focus on strategic development to continually innovate and grow events and meetings to ensure their sustainability.
John has a Bachelor of Arts in communications from the University of Tampa where his studies focused on the art of film from camera work, directing, editing, and final production. His love of the arts began in grade school where he started studying music. In high school he became the leader of the lower bass section of the orchestra and the marching band, and traveled the United States with a brass quintet whose performances included an appearance at Lincoln Center in New York City.
