After fifteen years as a civil rights leader and entrepreneur, Lisa Scails joined the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut as its Executive Director in 2007.
The Cultural Alliance is based in Danbury, a designated regional arts organization for DECD’s Connecticut Office of the Arts, and the heart of the region’s creativity. The Cultural Alliance serves 10 towns in northern Fairfield and southern Litchfield counties and helps communities to connect and thrive.
Scails developed a model of services for the Cultural Alliance that focus on making art more accessible; providing resources for creative resources that supports their professional and organizational growth; creating opportunities to bring people together using creativity; and facilitating cross sector connections with the arts. In addition, Scails is responsible for opening @287 Gallery that brings together more than 1,000 people each year to participate in programs and services.
Lisa Scails has a passion for making a difference in people’s lives. Scails has lived in Bethel, CT for more than 20 years where she raised her three children, Ryan, Paige, and Morgan.
