Many organizations are pursuing emergency recovery and relief efforts. If you are interested in donating, please consider the following options:

  • American Art Therapy Association is rasing funds to support communities affected by recent hurricanes and other disasters (California wildfires and Las Vegas shootings). Learn more.
  • Beta-Local is focusing thier energies on developing an emergency fund destined to cultural workers and their communities in the aftermath of the storm. 
  • CERF+ provides direct emergency financial relief for eligible artists who work in craft disciplines and have suffered career-threatening emergencies. Learn more.
  • Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS announced that it is awarding in emergency grants to organizations working on-the-ground in Florida and Puerto Rico providing immediate support to communities devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. 

Your agency may be called upon to respond and assist constituents who are impacted by a natural disaster. The National Coalition for Arts’ Preparedness and Emergency Response (NCAPER)’s Essential Guidelines for Arts Responders outlines recommendations, provides models, offers options, and identifies key resources. This information distills the many years of experience helping artists and arts organizations before, during and after disasters, that have been gained by members of NCAPER.

  • The Actor's Fund is provides emergency funding for performing artists.
  • Alliance for Artists Communities lists residencies have space or special opportunities for artists affected by natural disasters in the summer of 2017.
  • The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant program is intended to provide interim financial assistance to qualified artists.
