Celebrating the Arts
Monday, September 11, 2017 - 7:00amThurber Arts Center - Randolph School
Randolph School will serve as a hub for the Huntsville community in celebrating National Arts in Education Week beginning this September, 2017 with our “Celebrating the Arts.” In this inaugural year, we feature visual artist Dan Dunn, musical artists of The Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass, and theater artist and satellite radio show host Seth Rudetsky. In addition to various student-centered activities during the day, these guest performers will also present evening events in Thurber Arts Center that are open to the greater Huntsville community.
Other arts opportunities to celebrate the week include an adult-only “Spirited Art” evening, led by Randolph alumna, Liz Boley, where adults will gather to be instructed in painting a picture while enjoying a glass of wine in an artistic social atmosphere; and we will also have a portable recording booth so that aspiring musicians can record a CD demo. For Randolph students, the week will culminate with an all-school celebration of the arts on Friday which will feature student performers in all areas of the arts at Randolph in an outdoor festival setting.
