Shout Out Saugerties: A Celebration of Arts and Ideas
Event Description
To coincide with National Arts and Humanities month, Shout Out Saugerties is producing and promoting over 35 arts and public events featuring 60 artists and scholars in the Village over four weekends in October, from Oct 6 to 29. The festival works on two levels: to recognize the town's artistic and scholarly resources historically and presently - to Shout Them Out - and to connect creativity with economy and well being within the community.
From belly dancing to Spider-Man illustration to eco art to Hudson Valley art history and writing workshops, the Village will be abuzz with creative activity. Shout Out Saugerties, a new Indivisible inspired festival, is providing a framework to come together to celebrate human and natural resources and muse on the future of the community.
The official launch happens Oct. 7 with the unveiling of the Community Wall where citizens are invited to Write Out their dreams for the community. The festival ends on Oct. 29 with a Public Forum inviting the audience to Speak Out about the future of the community.
